How does the program work?

  1. Identify novice teachers and sign up. They now become our Partner Teachers!
  2. Partner Teachers will receive access to our learning platform where lessons/workshops are stored.
  3. Partner Teachers will commit to completing lessons and engaging in coaching sessions.
  4. Each school will designate 1 hour per month (during school hours) where Partner Teachers log-in for LIVE coaching sessions via Zoom (detailed time schedules-TBD).
  5. Partner Teachers will be invited to engage in our bi-monthly evening Zoom calls for additional coaching/resources.
  6. Each month there is a new area of focus.
All lessons follow the same format:
  • Lessons are asynchronous so Partner Teachers can begin and pause as needed
  • It takes about 1.5 hours to complete the contents in each lesson module
  • Discussion boards and question/answer sections allow Partner Teachers to communicate with instructional coaches and other educators
  • Content is presented in different formats for all learners
  • Activities are included for the application of new concepts
  • Partner Teacher reflections and artifact submission allow for differentiated instructional coaching experiences

Frequently asked questions

You’ve got questions. We’ve got answers.

Do I need to be a novice teacher to participate?

No, we find that most school leaders have recommended our course to serve as a refresher for novice and seasoned educators.  We ask that you let us know your years of teaching as well as subject area so that we may assign you to a cohort that works best for you!

How many lessons are there?

There are a total of 10 focus areas which are delivered each month.  Think of it as every month there is a new area of focus. We have aligned the content to mirror the school year and include materials that are relevant and timely.

Tell me more about the LIVE Zoom sessions.

We have 3 opportunities for LIVE sessions a month.
  1. Monthly Zoom call- this is during school hours and will last 1 hour.  Teachers will be asked to be excused from the classroom to participate. Advanced notice will be given to ensure coverage.
  2. Bi-monthly Zoom "Meet Up"- these sessions are held in the evening and occur two times per month.

How does the instructional coaching work?

After completing the lesson module for the month, the teacher engages in a Zoom session with peers in which instructional coaches work within breakout rooms to provide small group coaching.  During our bi-monthly evening Zoom sessions, teachers also receive coaching and can plan for a more individualized experience.  More details on how to sign-up and maximize coaching sessions will be discussed during monthly Zoom calls.

What happens if a teacher misses the monthly Zoom session?

No worries, our coaches also host a bi-monthly, evening "Meet Up" on Zoom for participants to get support. Keep in mind that during lesson/module completion, coaches are also very active on the platform, reviewing responses and offering collaborative feedback.

How are the cohorts assigned?

We take into consideration your assigned grade level/content area and years of experience before assigning your peer group.

Is this evaluative?

No, our instructional coaches are not here to evaluate teacher performance.  We are a team of veteran educators here to work alongside you. This is strictly collaborative.

Can a teacher sign up on their own, or is this a school level decision?

Teachers are usually enrolled based on a district or school wide initiative to invest in novice teachers.  However, we understand that some teachers may want to enroll on their own.  While we allow this on a case-by-case basis, we encourage teachers to share this program with their school leaders for two reasons: (1) to allow novice teachers in their building to build community together within our program and (2) receive group rates for access.

Can teachers receive professional development credits for their participation?

Yes! At the end of the learning module, teachers who successfully complete our program may receive 35 professional development hours.  *Additional instructional coaching sessions may substabntably increase professional development hours.

Can our school schedule for instructional coaches to visit in-person?

Yes.  Contact us for a thorough needs assessment to ensure that our visit is aligned with the current professional learning goals of the school leadership team.

How much does this cost?

Much less than replacing your newly hired teacher in 6 months. Contact us for more details.

Testimonials

Hear from some of our past participants.

Mrs.Stein, 9th Grade Math

THE RESOURCES!! Each time we met, we left with something! All of the shared resources on a Google Slide Presentation have changed my teaching.  I feel like I could stay in this.

Mrs. Sommers, 3rd Grade Social Studies

My coach always reminded us to make sure you take care of yourself as well! We work with children, we work with parents, we work with administrators etc.. AND  we have a life outside of school . It's important to find that balance and take care of your own mind and body - to take care of the world around us.  These lessons were centered not only on the content, but also on self-care and boundaries.

Mr. Flores. Middle School Science

This helped me to learn exactly how to do things in the classroom more effectively.  It was good to speak with someone who has the knowledge and experience to help us in our first year of teaching.  Thank you and your classes were extremely helpful!

Ms. Anderson, 1st Grade

I got help with my planning. The coaching was very useful and I learned the value of a rubric among many other things.

Mr. Blake, Physical Education Teacher

My biggest takeaway is that classroom management is more about relationships than a rule list.  I will keep this with me for years to come.

Ms. Jones, 8th Grade ELA & Social Studies

I found that as we dig deeper into the evaluation tools, other teachers have the same struggles. I felt a part of a community.
